Reikan FoCal 2.12 MR1 fixes an issue with Nikon image data processing (introduced in FoCal 2.12). FoCal 2.12 brings official support for the new Nikon D780 – the first Nikon camera which supports AF Fine Tune at both ends of the zoom range.
What’s New in FoCal 2.12 MR1
The purpose of the 2.12 MR1 (Maintenance Release 1) is to fix an issue with processing of Nikon image data with certain older Nikon cameras (this issue was introduced in FoCal 2.12).
We recommend everyone using FoCal 2.12 updates to FoCal 2.12 MR1.
Below is a repeat of the information from the FoCal 2.12 blog post.
Nikon D780 Support
The official Nikon documentation is now available and we’ve made a few minor adjustments to the control of the Nikon D780 to fully support this new camera.
From a software point-of-view, the D780 is much more like the Nikon Z-series mirrorless cameras and suggests a shift to a common and more modern interface. It led to a couple of interesting development problems while we were adding support for the D780, but they’re all sorted now!
The big headline for this camera is the ability to set AF Fine Tune values for both the wide and telephoto ends of a zoom lens, as shown in the screenshot above, notice the AF Fine Tune Value part! (Check out the dedicated blog entry for more details).
During calibration, FoCal will instruct you which setting to change and you just jump into the D780 menu and change either the Wide or Telephoto option:

Hi Andy,
FoCal supports both Canon and Nikon dSLR cameras. If you’re seeing a problem can you drop the support team a note and they should be able to help 🙂
Best Regards,
Dave
Does this work with non Nikon lenses, such as Tamron?
Hi Bruce,
Thank you for your interest in FoCal.
Yes, all auto focus lenses are compatible. These can be 3rd party lenses such as Sigma, Tamron and Tokina.
Best Regards,
Dave
