We’d like to thank users for their help and support investigating issues with the previous release and their patience whilst we worked on the updates.

  • FIX: Add support for Nikon D7100 on OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)

    • Hi Greg,

It’s very much the intent that this update will allow USB3 with D800/D810, that’s what we’ve found in our internal testing and also from feedback from users we asked to trial it.

One slight caveat, one user reported that he still needed to use USB2, we don’t believe that’s the normal case and we’re still investigating (could likely be a suspect USB3 cable issue).

Any issues please raise a ticket in the normal way.

      Best Regards,
      Dave

    • Hi

When exactly will you support the 1DX II? Is there a work around until it is fully supported? I need this camera calibrated.

I would greatly appreciate if you would PLEASE respond.

      Thank you in advance.

  • Is there any information when the Canon 80D will be added to the software. I have lenses that need calibrating to my new camera for my paid work… Thanks, Joe

    • Hi Joe,

Thank you for your interest in FoCal.

Yep, FoCal Canon 80D support is very much on the plan, we hope to release a new version of FoCal next month to include D80 support (estimate subject to change as we investigate further!)

  • Hi,

I now have a Nikon D5 and as you might have heard the D5 and also the D500 are now able to calibrate the outfocus itself. Works like a charme and is really fast!

In which way you plan to support the upcoming new Nikons?

    Thanks, Rudi

I would like FoCal for my Nikon D850 and the Nikon lenses I own. This might work with your upgrade for the D5 and D500, or are you months away for that upgrade?

    • Hi Steve,

At the moment (~mid September 2017) the D850 is not yet supported. Nikon hasn’t yet released an update to their published interface to allow us to access the camera. Once that’s released we will add it to FoCal. Estimates are always tricky to pin down, tomorrow we’re getting hold of a D850 to do some initial investigation with a plan to have full support in an upcoming release (possibly within a month of now!).

      Best Regards,
      Dave
